This autumn, my wardrobe felt like a true reflection of my style—simple, thoughtful, and fun. By combining my favourite aesthetics, I put together outfits that looked unique and felt good to wear, striking a balance between practicality and playfulness.
Dressing with intention made this season all the more enjoyable. Rather than sticking rigidly to my pre-planned seasonal capsule, I focused on dressing for the day I wanted to have. Each outfit was chosen with both comfort and style in mind because, to me, fashion isn’t just about looking good—it’s about feeling good, too.
I steered clear of fast fashion trends and influencer style, focusing instead on classic outfits that would look just as good next season as they do now. This approach transformed my autumn wardrobe into a collection of outfits that not only highlighted my personal style but made every day feel special.
This autumn, I leaned into a style that blends minimalist, vintage-inspired elements with hints of dark academia and cottagecore. The result was an autumn wardrobe that felt classic and a little mysterious—like something you’d wear to explore an old library or an antique bookshop.
As the days grew colder, comfort became my top priority. I wanted outfits that were both stylish and functional. Each outfit I wore was styled for day-to-day activities: comfortable enough for all-day outings, easy to layer up for warmth, and versatile enough to dress up or down depending on where I was headed.
Autumn is layering season, and as the temperature dropped, I found myself reaching for knitted vests, structured cardigans, and cosy sweaters to add warmth and texture to my looks. My outfits revolved around relaxed yet refined silhouettes created by layering pieces that added something unique—whether it was warmth, added texture, or visual interest.
Most of my outfits this season played with monochromatic layering, featuring a single contrasting colour, like green or cream, against black. These earthy neutrals made it easy to mix and match outfits that were perfect for this transitional season. This cohesive colour palette made up of earthy neutrals made it easy to mix and match clothes. I could maintain a classic and polished appearance while still feeling playful.
Though I love fuss-free minimalist styling, I like to add subtle touches of playfulness through texture and pattern. A few well-chosen patterns and graphic designs gave my outfits more personality without making them look garish. Texture was key in creating depth and visual interest, with a variety of textures from chunky wools to soft cottons, adding variety and dimension to each look.
I've always believed accessories play an important role in any wardrobe, and that’s especially true for a capsule collection. This season, I kept my accessories simple but purposeful, opting for timeless, versatile pieces like a classic black bag and sturdy loafers. I incorporated colourful jewellery and bag charms to add character to my outfits without overpowering it.
