Winter 2024 Style Inspiration

Winter Style Inspiration 2024

After a season of dopamine dressing with a colourful capsule made up of thrifted pieces. For winter I'm leaning back into a monochrome wardrobe, channelling witchy vibes with mostly all black outfits in a soft-goth aesthetic. The thrifted outfits are staying though!

Winter outfits don't inspire me much. I've struggled to find style inspiration that makes me feel excited for a season that requires heavy layering and thick knitwear to make it through the cold weather. I hate having to hide a good outfit under an oversized coat!

This is my style inspiration for winter 2024. Find more winter outfits on Pinterest.

Winter Style Inspiration 2024

During winter, I'll mostly be finding new ways to style my existing clothes. Almost anything can be made seasonally-appropriate by adding a base layer, tights, or a thick scarf. So I won't be struggling to find outfits to wear during the cold months but they might not be as fun to style as my summer wardrobe.

Although I have added a few pieces to my wardrobe wishlist based on my style inspiration and influenced by a desire to create a small wardrobe with a big personality. A bright bag to pair with all black outfits, a gingham print dress for layering, and more knitwear—both basics and statement pieces.

Thrifting is definitely the way to go if you want a unique capsule wardrobe. I have plenty of tips for finding secondhand bargains, which makes experimenting with new items and outfit styles less risky and more affordable.

Over the last year I've realised how shockingly bland most capsule wardrobes are. In an effort to make a wardrobe as versatile and timeless as possible, all sense of personal style disappears and only a wardrobe full of basic pieces remain.

I got sucked into the world of capsule wardrobes almost 10 years ago. I ended up with an easy to style but incredibly boring outfits. While stripping everything back to basics and having a neutral colour palette is a useful starting point. What's more important is finding your personal style—not how many items are in your wardrobe!

Capsule wardrobes don't have to be boring! Over the last year, I've been writing style guides to help you build a small wardrobe with a big personality. I use my clothes to show you how to put together different capsule wardrobes using what you already own, showing just how easy it is to style multiple outfits from a limited number of clothes.
