Autumn 2023 Style Inspiration

Autumn Style Inspiration

From my summer style moodboard, it's very obvious I romanticise this time of year. Although I don't think I dress my best during a heatwave, it's undoubtedly my favourite season. So I've been reluctant to put together a moodboard for the new season.

Finding autumn style inspiration and outfits I could recreate and actually wear was a real struggle. I hate the cold weather and having to wear bulky layers every day. Plus I don't want the summer adventures or sunshine to end—the good weather has been so fleeting this year!

Autumn Style Inspiration

After dopamine dressing in summer, apparently autumn is returning to basics with a pared back style... Not me! I'm going the opposite way. I've been inspired by fun details, like embroidered shirts and brightly coloured bags, and have been getting more playful with my own outfits.

I love having a mostly black wardrobe and I imagine I'll always enjoy wearing all black outfits the majority of the time. But I can't deny that wearing the exact same outfit on repeat becomes rather boring after a while. Having a few statement items can make a basic outfit much more interesting both to wear and to look at.

I've added a few new pieces—both thrifted and gifted—into my all-seasons capsule wardrobe that have allowed me to experiment more with my outfits without compromising my core personal style. Thrifting is one of the best ways to experiment with style in a sustainable way, and if it doesn't work out—no big deal!

I've been adding fun details to my all black outfits by using playful prints and colourful accessories. I really enjoy layering clothes and jewellery, using versatile basics to keep outfits simple and adding colourful elements to make them more interesting.

I've been doing this with statement clothing but also with colourful jewellery. I've even launched a collection of minimal playful jewellery featuring enamel charms designed to be layered.

Featuring crystal pendants, colourful gemstones, and enamel charms; this colour pop jewellery is ideal for transforming a minimal capsule wardrobe into a more playful one.
