After several years of creating capsule wardrobes, it was beginning to feel as if they were becoming redundant and, dare I say it, a little overdone.. Until I looked at the top posts from 2022.
Capsule wardrobes are still really popular. Lots of people are looking for style advice and wardrobe inspiration, especially via my Pinterest boards.
For a while, having a seasonal capsule with a limited number of seasonal items was useful. I learned how to style and restyle the same items of clothing in lots of different ways.
Since filming my outfits, I've realised there's little point in not wearing everything I own as often as possible. As a result, I don't keep a capsule wardrobe in the traditional sense anymore.
Style inspiration mood boards and style boards and capsule wardrobes have been useful tools for preventing impulse purchases, developing personal style, and making the most of what I already own. But I don't need to have a strict capsule anymore.
I'll continue putting together seasonal capsule wardrobes for style inspiration purposes with examples of what clothes include and how to style them; to help with your own capsule, if you should need it.
I'll also be sharing travel capsule wardrobes and packing lists, as well as capsules designed for specific purposes or occasions. There will be examples of how I style my capsule wardrobe on TikTok, if you want to see how I'd wear them.
With all that being said, this is my winter capsule wardrobe for 2023. It includes all the items I envision myself wearing the most over the next few months. I put this together mid-winter and so far the weather has been mild.
We've had a few cold snaps in England with a few inches of snow, and it's predicted the temperatures will drop again. But in general, winter 2023 is relatively tame meaning our wardrobe choices won't need to be quite so heavy duty.
