My Summer style inspiration is quite moody! Looking at my moodboard all laid out, it starts off with a lot of dark layered outfits. Then the colour creeps in, pulling green shades I've grown to love from my Spring inspiration and subsequent capsule wardrobe. Fabric gets lighter, outfits become brighter, and the style I lean into becomes more effortless. It makes sense; I can see how, as Summer creeps in, it seeps into my wardrobe too. The colours, the layers, the draping fabric.
Using Pinterest for style inspiration has had a profound impact on my wardrobe. It's made dressing easier and my capsule wardrobes have become more fun to put together. The effort of putting together style inspiration moodboards is rewarded with more enjoyable outfits. If you're struggling with your style, it's a method I encourage you to try out. On to the points of interest. Just like my Spring moodboard, green has become a focal point in my wardrobe. This summer, it's accompanied by a soft creamy caramel. I've been having a lot of fun with my wardrobe lately. Thrifting for a few colourful pieces, like these knitted vests and cropped shirts.
Usually looking at style inspiration gets me exited about the new outfits I can create. But I'm more exited about the outfits I've already imagined in my head than the ones I see on my moodboard. I struggled to find Summer inspiration that was a true reflection of my current wardrobe, and how I'd like to style outfits. It took quite a lot of searching to get anywhere near close to finding street style I liked. I don't think I quite found it either. Either way, I'm focusing on my putting together my Summer capsule wardrobe and excitedly anticipating the new season.
