Big cities tend to be far less welcoming to dogs than the countryside. It can make finding dog-friendly things to do a real challenge that adds unnecessary stress to a day out.
I've been living in Birmingham for several years and during lockdown became a dog guardian for the first time. Not wanting to be turned away at the door, I went looking for dog-friendly things to do in Birmingham.
After searching websites, trawling online reviews, and checking social accounts; it quickly became apparent just how difficult it was to find out whether a place allows dogs or not.
In the hopes of saving others from the same frustration I experienced, I put together my first dog-friendly travel guide. The result is this easy-to-read list of dog-friendly places in Birmingham.
To make it more accessible, I've organised the guide by districts where possible and divided the venues into categories, including bars and pubs, restaurants, cafes and coffee shops, and hotels.
