As the weather shifts and we make strikes towards summer, it's time to replace sweatpants with something more weather appropriate. I know a lot of people struggle with staying comfortable in hot weather. I used to dread the sunshine because I never knew what to wear. Over the years of building my all-seasons capsule wardrobe, I've learned the best outfits to wear and the worst. Never one of my summer faves until recently; shorts have become more appealing now I'm found some sustainably-made options that are also a good fit.
As always I recommend taking a look at second-hand options before buying new. I found an amazing pair of vintage P.E. shorts for £1 in a charity shop. They fit great and are super comfy whether I'm lounging at home or on the beach. Sometimes though, the right fit and ideal size can't be found in a charity shop or online marketplace. Everyone deserves to feel comfortable and confident no matter the season. If you struggle to find summer options that are both stylish and cool, here are a few of the best sustainably-made shorts.
Sustainably-Made Shorts
I have a few options in my wardrobe. Super soft with a mid-rise waistband and loose fit, these Organic Basics Tencel Lite Shorts (gifted) are an excellent lightweight loungewear choice for wearing around the house or after a wild swim. They'd even be great as a summer sleepwear option. I also have a pair of Everlane Track Sweatshorts (purchased as a set with the Track Sweatshirt) for cooler summer days. Modesty / Anti-Chaffing Shorts
I have a few dresses that are a touch shorter than I feel comfortable wearing without tights. The best solution I've found is to wear a pair of super lightweight shorts underneath. This also helps with chaffing if that's something you struggle with in hot weather. I love Snag tights. They are the most comfortable, perfect-fitting tights I've ever worn.
