Spring feels like a breath of fresh air. Particularly so this year. There's been some good news with England's COVID-19 roadmap. The goal is to exit lockdown by June 21st. I'm counting down the days until I can see my friends and family again. Hopefully with a glass of wine in hand and the sun shining. We can only wait and see what the next few weeks bring.
In the meantime, I'm dreaming of warmer weather with my spring capsule wardrobe. Longer days really do lift everyone's mood, don't they? As we step out of the winter gloom into spring sunshine, our optimism starts to soar. I'm excited for days without heavy coats and rain boots. It's a while off yet but we can dream!
This spring is a little different. I'll be doing a lot more walking, no matter the weather. We recently welcomed a dog into our family and have a lot of outdoor exploring to do. It's certainly going to shake up my routine and put my wardrobe to the test.
I'll be putting together a capsule for dog keepers soon. The 3am walks have really taught me something about sensible outfit choices (and not caring what the neighbours think!) For my spring capsule, I'm sticking with my capsule wardrobe staples. The tried and tested favourites in my wardrobe I love to wear.

I want to believe the weather is going to be nice enough for light jackets. However, I've learned from past experiences that I need to include a warm winter coat in my spring capsule. My second-hand cocoon coat is a great option for warmth. My Stutterheim rain coat will see me through down pours and light showers. While my new denim jacket is a lightweight option on warmer, kinder days.

I wear jumpers as tops and only sometimes wear a t-shirt underneath. So I've included options with varying degrees of warmth. If I need to, I can layer up underneath. This new-to-me mockneck jumper has become a firm favourite. It will be a great option to have for no-coat spring days.

I've included a couple of options for dressier days. A classic skirt and a funnel neck top, both second-hand. As well as a new unisex ASKET Overshirt. A great piece for layering on warmer days. I'm hoping we get to see friends during spring and I want to dress up a little for the occasion. I rarely wear tees on their own, only as an exta layer under knits. I've included them here as spring weather is tempramental and having a good base layer to hand is essential.

My loungewear capsule benefited from the addition of these Baukjen joggers and these Everlane track pants. I'm sure I'll continue to wear them, perhaps a little less so, through the spring too. My Linen Fox maxi dress was such a great buy. It took me forever to pull the trigger on it and now it's become one of the most worn items in my wardrobe. I extended the life (and appeal) of an old second-hand COS dress by dyeing it black. It's made of thick cotton so ideal for spring weather, with or without tights. I'm excited for the weather to warm up enough to start rewearing my Avec Clyde Jumpsuit too!

I've been getting a lot of wear out of these pull-on Stutterheim rain boots. They're useful for getting out the door quickly, no matter the weather outside. Perhaps I'm being a little optimistic including sandals in my capsule. I'm hoping I'll get some decent wear out of them towards the end of spring.

The Everlane transit bag has become a great catch-all for daily essentials and dog walking. For anyone like me who doesn't like carrying a bag, this is a very discreet option. My Kanken mini has seen me through many seasons, and I'll be putting it to good use again this spring. For running errands without hideous grotty bags, I take my Ellyla shopper.
